We are in love with this wedding dance video that has gone viral. It was the perfect recipe for success and here are the basic steps to creating a viral wedding video. I mean who doesn't want to have their wedding played on the Ellen show or Good Morning America right?

Step 1 - Have an awesome choreographed routine down perfectly, it doesn't hurt if it can be a major surprise!
Step 2- You must have a Videographer present, ready and waiting. No phone camera could have done this justice or made it an overnight viral success. So to all those brides who think they don't need a Videographer because they have an amazing photographer, think again. This would not have been a viral photography blog no matter how amazing the pictures.
Step 3-Have fun, the reason this video is receiving millions of views is because it makes people smile. You can just see how much fun they are having and it will make you want to watch it over and over again.
Step 4-Be social media savy! The video was tweeting by Justin Bieber himself after it was sent to his attention, a tweet from Justin and the video recieved over 60,000 hits in 24 hours! Never doubt the power of social media.

No one wants to be Bridezilla so why is the phrase so commonly used to describe many blushing brides? Well In my experience the newly engaged Bride is full of hope and excitment. The days of being pampered at showers and shopping for a gown fill her horizon with anticipation. The bridal gown appointment is full of loving on lookers who share in her joy as they gasp at her beauty when she finds the dress. The swirl of emotion and thrilling discoveries make her glow with happiness and appreciation for the love of her life she is to soon wed. Then the to do list start to pile up, opinions of loved ones start to be voiced, the finer details are coming to her attention and undoubtedly she is stressed. As the day approaches and the showers and the shopping are now only happy, smiling Facebook pictures of the past she becomes more tense and overwhelmed. The gown fittings begin and this is the time to stop and focus and look at the big picture. The happiest Brides are the ones who don't get caught up in the details, who realize they are planning a wedding not a perfect performance. The day will be a success if in the end you are Husband and Wife and nothing else matters (well expect the dress has to fit). I am Sarah Heath, the woman behind the blog and it occured to me recently that I should introduce myself. I have been with J.Andrew's Bridal for more than three years starting in April of 2008. Since then I have helped hundreds of brides and thousands of bridal party members. It is an honor and a privilege to be apart of such a special time in the lives of my brides and their families. I myself have been married for nearly 13 years as of this June 6th and we have three little girls, so I know one day being in this business will come in handy. Secrets for Busty Brides

I was asked to do a Blog post on some tips for Busty Brides and I am thrilled to be able to share some of my tips to help those Brides who are looking for some help with their bust line. First thing is first, you will need a good bra! Many Bridal gowns are designed with a ton of support built in however if you are a very busty bride the built in support might not be enough. You are going to need to have a good strapless or convertible bra that can adapt to which ever neckline you choose in your gown. Many busty brides think they have to wear a dress with straps and that is simply not true, in fact many gowns with straps are V Neck which does not work well if your busty because the neckline is usually very plugging. If a gown is properly fitted you will be able to wear it strapless or with a little spaghetti strap just to hold the top of the gown in place. The "sweet heart" neckline can be flattering for some if you don't mind showing a little cleavage. A one should dress is a great option because it gives support and usually provides allot of coverage. A dress that is cinched at the waist line is going to be great because it will help define your waist line. Adding a champagne colored sash at the waist is a great way to cinch in any dress and draw attention to your waist and not your bust. Remember rouching is every girls best friend! No matter your body style a gown with rouching is going to be very flattering. Well hope this helped, happy shopping!

We are fresh off of our NYC Bridal Market trip and excited to report what is trending in Bridal for 2012.

Ruffles are still making a big impact on bridal fashion, we are loving this trend because it is romantic and whimsical.

Lace, but that is not really a trend. The classic lace dress will never go out of style. This season we saw lace and texture together for a new twist on a traditional classic look.

Ball gowns are making a come back. We are seeing more and more modified ball gowns that feature a draped skirt and a fitted bodice.

Tulle gowns are really making a big statement on the runway this season. A tulle gown creates a soft romantic elegance with out being too heavy and gives Brides a dreamy classy look.

Pink is the new Ivory. OK well I won't say it is going to replace Ivory any time soon but we did see pink, blush and champagne in allot of the designers looks this season. Don't be surprised to see this new trend hit the magazines and arrive in stores soon.

We ordered a new Allure tulle ballgown in Pink, can't wait to get that one here for our Brides.

Of course Valentine's Day is just around the corner and being in the business of Weddings this is like our Super Bowl! It is estimated that at least 10% of all marriage proposals take place on Valentines Day. Here are some fun facts about the holiday of love.

The United States isn't the only country to celebrate Valentine's Day. So does Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Italy and Australia.

The first Valentine thought to ever be written dates back to 1415 when Charles, the Duke of Orleans, who was imprisoned in the Tower of London, sent a love letter to his wife. It even still exists. (As part of the British Library's collection.)

Girls of medieval times ate bizarre foods on St. Valentine's Day to make them dream of their future spouse.

Teachers will receive the most Valentine's Day cards, followed by children, mothers, wives, sweethearts and pets.

How to successfully shop for Bridesmaids dresses

When shopping for bridesmaids dresses, I often hear Brides saying "this is harder than picking out my dress" The truth is it can be much more difficult to choose one dress that will fit and flatter several bridesmaids who all have different body styles than choosing just one dress to fit you!

Here are some tips on having the most success while bridesmaids shopping.

1. Do your "homework"
Plan to go shopping for your Bridesmaids dresses after you have spent some time looking at wedding magazines and understanding the "style" or at least color that you want for your wedding day.

2. Be the BOSS
Brides who let everyone have an opinion often live to regret their kind gesture. The fact is this is your wedding day and you and your family are going to be spending a ton of money on the pictures and you will really want to look at those pictures and be in love with what you see.
Your bridal party gets to pick what they wear every other day of their lives this is the one day you are the boss. So don't let your vision be compromised. With that said, if you have a group of ladies that are really easy to work with and you feel comfortable giving them free rein, well once again remember your the Boss and you can do it any way you want!

3. Be selective
If you have a large Bridal party more than 4, you should really be selective on who you bring with you to the bridesmaids appointment. It is not necessary to have all of your bridesmaids with you while your still shopping. It is a good idea to bring bridesmaids of different body styles so you can see how the dresses you like look on each body type.

4. Be open minded
As a Bridal Consultant I see it all the time, a bride has one style in mind for her bridal party and after a few of them try it on it is clear to see that style will not work. So as much as it is a good idea to do your homework, be prepare to switch gears if need be and trust the experts to help you.

5. Be in the "know"
Did you know it takes about 4-5 months for most bridesmaids dresses to come in?
Did you know that you really need to order all the dresses from the same location to get the same dye lot color?
Did you know that bridesmaid run on average a size or two smaller than regular dresses?
Knowing all of the basics of Bridesmaids is going to help you in this process, make a list of questions for your consultant.

A few weekends ago we attended the fourth annual Enzoani Fashion Event in downtown Los Angeles. The three day-long event was full of cocktail parties, amazing dinners and the ultimately unveiling of our 2011 Collections featuring Blue and Love by Enzoani.

Where do I take my gown to have it preserved?
You will simply bring your Gown to J.Andrew's Bridal and we will take care of the rest!

Do I need to have my gown cleaned before bringing it in?
No you do not, the Wedding Gown Preservation Company will handle all o f the cleaning necessary to ensure a proper preservation.

What stains are removed with the cleaning process?
The Wedding Gown Preservation Company is able to remove at least 95% of all stains. Those that are most common are removed 100% of the time.

If I need to open up the preservation chest at any time in the future, will that jeopardize or void the guarantee? Your guarantee will not be voided, however, you should take care to reseal the chest with the resealing materials provided. Gloves will also be included that should be used to handle the gown.

I was at a Bridal show a few weekends ago and a Bride asked me a question I don't get asked very often and it really made me think. She asked, "What makes you different from all the other Bridal shops in the Atlanta area"? It was such a great question so I wanted to share with you my reply.

Having worked in the bridal industry at a national chain store ( come on don't make me say it.. you all know what I am talking about) I know first hand the huge differences between our shop and the national chains. For one thing we actually have MORE of a selection. It can be very misleading to a Bride who sees all the dresses hanging on the racks thinking that she has so many to choose from when in fact they stock the SAME dress in every color and size so there are really very few choices. Here at J.Andrew's Bridal we have hundreds of different dresses which makes for a huge selection. We do not duplicate any dress, we have samples of each so when we find THE dress we order in a new dress for the Bride in the size and color she needs.

From other boutiques style stores our variety makes us different, some shops focus on offering only high end couture collections while others focus on more affordable options and we do both!

Our relaxed, fun and laid back atmosphere is differently different. We allow Brides and their families to photograph the dresses during their appointment. We even have score cards made up for brides friends and families to rate the dresses!

We really do have a great team who makes it a priority to help every bride no matter her style or budget! We have made custom changes to bridal gowns that include adding black buttons and black tulle.

Another great difference is the fact that we have a dedicated seamstress on site to work exclusively with our brides who charges on average only $125 in bridal gown alterations, we save our brides a ton of money!

The Dolce Wedding Production

Sunday May 16th The Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree hosted it's 2nd annual Wedding Production and this year we were the exclusive formal wear provider. We loved being apart of this show and having the opportunity to show case what a J.Andrew's wedding can look like. Every detail down to the Flower girl dress and Ring bearer's tuxedo was hand selected by our visionary staff. From top to bottom we know how to outfit every member of the wedding party to achieve a beautiful, cohesive look while letting everyone feel their most beautiful and still giving the Bride the spot light. The other participating vendors did an amazing job putting together this fantastic event and we know the Brides enjoyed it. Especially the grand prize winner who walked away with a Dolce Wedding reception valued at $12,000!

It is that time again for the Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree Wedding Production, one Bridal show we actually look forward to being apart of! Of course we always enjoy getting out and meeting new Brides, but we really love this unique event because we can actually show case a "real" wedding.

The idea is simply brilliant, Brides are "invited" to attend a Wedding at the Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree's beautiful outdoor venue. Followed by a fully appointed recption in the grand ball room, guest brides will enjoy all the treats of a real Wedding recption including Cake by Sweet Sensations!

The Bride & Groom are really just actors but the real Brides won't know the diffrence. J.Andrew's Bridal has provided the wardrobe for the entire Bridal party including the Flower girl, Ringbearer, Mother of the Bride & Groom.

Project Runway finale

I watched the season finale of Project Runway last night and fell in love with the winning designer Seth Aron all over again! Although during this season I really was inspired by Emilio's designs and loved to laugh at Anthony, Seth Aron really hit a home run last night with his collection. His unique inspiration was the German military, which he found great beauty in. My personal favorite of the collection was the silk dress that flowed down the runway with great movement and elegance. Congrats to Seth Aaron, we are looking forward to seeing what is next!

It has become more and more popular for a Bride to select a color and fabric by a certain designer and allow the Bridesmaids to choose from several choices of dress style. We love this trend because, let's face it trying to get multiple ladies to agree to or even look good in one style of dress does have it's challenges. Our designers know this so they have designed collections of dresses in the same fabric and color that all work together. These few dresses are by Jim Hjelm in their silky taffeta fabric, any dress can be ordered in many colors. We do recommend working with only one bridal salon to ensure the same dye lot of the dresses, you might want different styles but you certainly don't want different colors when it looks like you tried to match and didn't! So the new idea is pick your color and let the Bridesmaids pick a dress they will feel beautiful in and love wearing.. you can't go wrong when starting with Jim Hjelm!

JLM Couture announced today it has named its award winning Lazaro Perez as head designer of Tara Keely, the company’s mid-priced bridal gown collection. The company said Mr. Perez will, of course, continue his duties as head designer of the upscale Lazaro bridal collection. Joseph L. Murphy, president and CEO, said the move "enables JLM to dedicate more of its top-flight design talent to the creation of more moderately-priced bridal collections."

Lazaro Perez said he was enthusiastic about the opportunity: "On my travels to trunk shows I meet brides who would love to be able to afford the styling of the Lazaro collection, but don't have the resources for these gowns. Q: What kind of shoes should I wear?
A: If your going to be on a soft outdoor surface like sand or grass a wedge is the perfect shoe, you will not sink and yet you will still have the height of a heel

Q:Can I still wear a veil?
A:Yes, actually a veil looks really beautiful in your photographs when it is able to pick up a little wind in the outdoors

Q:How should I travel with my dress?
A: Most airlines will allow you to hang your gown in the captains closet, just tell them it is a bridal gown and they should be very helpful. If your driving just lay it out in a back seat and hang it up when you get to your destination

Q:Will my dress get dirty or drag sand in the train?
A:Yes, your dress will get dirty on the hem.. and it is OK! We use a great company for cleaning and preservation and they can get out most any stain. So don't worry, the dirty hem. But if you are concerned ask your venue about a runner to be placed down the aisle.

2009 was a great year here in our little Bridal shop. We enjoyed being apart of each and every wedding we had our hand in planning. Julie and Bill were married on June 6th 2009, I was honored to be a guest at their ceremony and the reception held at the Fox Theater! Julie wore a Jim Hejlm lace sheath with swarovski crystal embellishments on the empire waist. A unique detail of her wedding attire was her 10 foot long lace veil we had custom made for her! Julie made such a beautiful entrance as she walked down the aisle towards her groom her veil and chapel length train gracefully draping behind her! I felt so privileged to be apart of this special day and loved seeing every detail come together perfectly. Julie's bridesmaids were beautiful appointed in Bill Levkoff gowns in black with champagne trim. The Mother of the Bride looked stunning in our Montage by Mon Cheri gown in black and champagne. The event was heartfelt, romantic and beautiful! Thank you Julie for allowing all of us at J.Andrew's Bridal the pleasure of working with you, we all wish you and Bill every happiness!

So I wonder how many of you brides and brides to be out there are hooked on shows like say yes to the dress, well I know I am and it is all about my job! You would think I would get enough of it after a long day at the bridal shop but I love to see how the consultants deal with so many of the same things we deal with everyday. So I decided I am going to start blogging about the show, and share with you all an honest Bridal consultants opinion of the show and the cast. So the last episode I watched was titled "Two for One" in which two sisters came shopping for Bridal gowns and were considering buying one (expensive) gown to share between them. My reaction was similar to that of Nicole on the show, I thought it was a crazy idea and I am glad they ultimately didn't go thru with it. Another sister came shopping with her sister only to end up buying one that she saw her try on for herself. I thought that was actually very sweet, it was almost like her sister modeled it for her and it looked so good on her she wanted the dress. I always have a favorite dress, this episode I really loved the one the sisters were considering splitting. It was so simple and elegant. Of course my favorite character is Randy, I wish we had one of him in our shop.. maybe one day!

The Veil and the comb

The Bridal Veil
The single most recognizable Bridal accessory is the last piece of the puzzle to transform any beautiful woman into a Bride. It is the only occasion in which us women get to wear something so unique and pretty. As much as I would like to wear one to the grocery store just to prove to my husband I am still as pretty as a princess, there just is no time or place that a veil makes sense expect on your Wedding day.

The comb or tiara is the finishing touch to be crowed Princess or Queen if you prefer for the day! It also helps to add an element of sparkle and interest, giving a completed look to the veil.

With so many options the search for the perfect veil could seem overwhelming however I have a few simple tips on how to make the task much easier.

1st- Try each length of veil to determine the style you like best, don't be afraid of a long veil even with a shorter train it really helps to add to the drama of the entire dress
2nd-Let the dress do the work, choose a veil with similar beading, color and style as the dress
3rd- Make sure it matches!!! Try the veil on with the dress, make sure the color coordinates not all white and ivory is the same

Also it is important to note that the blusher is the veil normally worn over the brides face. It is best to have the blusher on a separate comb that way it won't bunch up on top of the head.

One of my favorite things about working in a Bridal Botique vs. a large company is the unique custum things we do for each Bride.

When a dress is being hemmed the extra fabric is used to make a custom garder for the Bride & Groom for a keepsake. We have also used lace from a Mother or Grandmothers gown to decorate the garder or veil.

We have a jewler who creates each piece to order and cordonate with the details of the gowns. The workmanship of these skilled proffesionals adds such a unique and personal touch to a day that is suppose to be about personal expression and love.
